Telangana: In the early hours of Sunday in Telangana’s Suryapet, a tractor and a lorry crashed on the national highway at Munagala, resulting in five fatalities, including a toddler, and 20 injuries.

The accident happened when the deceased were travelling back to their homes following a puja at a Lord Ayyappa temple outside of Munagala. The road disaster claimed the lives of Thenneru Prameela (35), Chinthakayala Prameela (33), Uday Lokesh (8), Naragoni Kotaiah (55) and Gundu Jyothi (38) people.
How did the event occur?
The tractor was carrying at least 30 passengers when it entered the main highway connecting Hyderabad and Vijyawada after taking the wrong turn. A speeding truck headed for Vijayawada struck the tractor at the same moment.
Following contact, all 30 occupants of the tractor were ejected into the road. The tractor was pulled behind the speeding truck for a distance of several metres before it stopped.
Police and villagers arrived at the scene and began rescue efforts after obtaining the information. For medical attention, the injured were sent to a neighbouring hospital.
Inspector Anjaneyulu of Munagala Circle reported that the accident happened at midnight and that 30 passengers were in the tractor at the time.

Casualties recorderd
“On impact, five people including a child succumbed to their injuries while 25 others sustained grievous injuries. We’re investigating the matter, seeing who’s fault it was, and how the accident took place. The injured have been shifted for medical treatment to a nearby hospital,” the policeman stated.
