On a daily scale, Nifty formed a small bodied bearish candle with a longer lower shadow, indicating buying interest on declines but a lack of follow-up activity at higher levels. According to Chandan Taparia of Motilal Oswal, it now needs to cross and hold above 17777 zones in order to move higher towards 17950 and 18081 zones, while supports are located at 17650 and 17500 zones.
Rupee in narrow range, premiums fall; Powell, RBI eyed
The Indian rupee ended little changed against the U.S. dollar on Tuesday, having traded in a narrow range ahead of the Reserve Bank of India’s policy decision and the Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell’s speech.
The rupee last traded at 82.70 to the dollar, compared with 82.7250 in the previous session. The intraday range for the local currency was 82.64 to 82.7950.
