Hrithik’s first acting role was in Bhagwaan Dada (1986), directed by his grandfather J Om Prakash. In the film, he played Govinda, the adopted son of Rajinikanth’s character. Hrithik has often spoken about how warmly Rajinikanth treated him during the shoot.

He once recalled, “He was so gentle. Whenever I used to mess up a shot, my grandfather would say cut and Rajini sir would take the blame. So that I, the child, would not get conscious.” He admits he didn’t realise at the time how lucky he was to share the screen with the superstar.
Rajinikanth Celebrates 50-Year Milestone
This box office clash comes in a landmark year for Rajinikanth, who is celebrating five decades in cinema. Since his debut in 1975, he has become one of India’s most iconic actors, with a career spanning hundreds of films and a fan base that stretches across the globe.
Hrithik’s public tribute adds a touch of warmth to what is otherwise a high-stakes release week. It’s a rare reminder that admiration can exist even when the competition is intense.
