Coolie Vs War 2 Box Office Collection Day 5: Both Rajinikanth And Hrithik Roshan Starrer Fail Monday Test, Big Drop After Weekend, Earn Just Rs…

Rajinikanth’s Coolie stays ahead of Hrithik Roshan’s War 2 at the box office despite a sharp Monday drop. Both films now face a tough weekday test.

The box office clash between Rajinikanth’s Coolie and Hrithik Roshan’s War 2 has taken a sharp turn. Both films enjoyed a strong opening weekend, but the crucial first Monday brought heavy drops. This has raised questions about how long they can hold audiences in theatres.

War 2 Box Office Collection Day 5

Ayan Mukerji’s War 2, featuring Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani, started with big numbers. The action film collected Rs 174.75 crore net in its first four days in India. But the trend showed signs of weakness. Saturday saw a 42% drop, and Sunday failed to recover.

Monday made matters worse. According to Sacnilk, the film earned just Rs 8.50 crore net, a nearly 75% fall from Sunday. With this, the five-day India total reached Rs 183.25 crore. The film is eyeing the Rs 200 crore mark in its first week, but the weekday trend looks shaky.

Do you also want me to make a separate table for Coolie in the same style, so both films’ collections can be compared easily?

Globally, War 2 crossed Rs 200 crore gross by Saturday. Yet, with a budget of around Rs 400 crore, breaking even will be tough. The film is also a key part of YRF’s Spy Universe, which includes Pathaan and the Tiger films. A post-credits scene hints at the next chapter, introducing Bobby Deol as the lead in Alpha, alongside Alia Bhatt and Sharvari.

Coolie Box Office Collection Day 5

Rajinikanth’s Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, benefited from the Independence Day holiday and the star’s massive fanbase. The film opened with Rs 65 crore net in India and crossed Rs 400 crore worldwide in its first weekend.

But like War 2, it too witnessed falls after Friday. The collections dropped from Rs 54.75 crore on Friday to Rs 39.5 crore on Saturday, and then Rs 35.25 crore on Sunday. On Monday, it added Rs 12 crore net, taking the five-day India total to Rs 206.50 crore.

Even with the decline, Coolie is performing better than its rival. The Tamil version recorded around 30% occupancy on Monday, while the Telugu version managed 21%. At this pace, it is likely to surpass Darbar (Rs 247 crore) and Vettaiyan (Rs 253 crore). However, beating Jailer with its Rs 604 crore lifetime collection looks difficult.

When compared to Rajinikanth’s earlier releases, Coolie did better than Vettaiyan, which managed only Rs 5.6 crore on its first Monday. But it could not match Jailer, which collected Rs 23.55 crore on the same day.

What’s Ahead For Rajinikanth And Hrithik Roshan Starrer

The battle between Coolie and War 2 shows the risk of releasing big-budget films close together. War 2 depends on its big stars and cinematic universe but has been hit by poor word of mouth. Coolie is boosted by Rajinikanth’s fan following and festive timing, yet mixed reviews may slow its run.

For now, Coolie has the upper hand with higher numbers. But both films must show stable weekday collections if they want strong lifetime totals at the box office.
