Speculation about Govinda’s marriage with Sunita Ahuja has surfaced again. Reports suggest that Sunita has filed for divorce, citing “cruelty and adultery.” The news has created a storm on social media, with fans debating whether the claims are true or not.

Amid the gossip, a close friend of Govinda shared insight into the situation. The friend said to TOI, “They have been married for 38 years. Like all couples, they have their ups and downs. Tell me, which couple doesn’t have their differences?”
The friend admitted that Govinda and Sunita have had heated arguments. “Yes, they (Govinda-Sunita) have their fights. Yes, violent fights. I have been a first-hand witness to some of them. But they will never separate permanently,” the source added. According to them, Govinda sometimes shifts to another bungalow after fights but always returns once things cool down.
Dismissing the divorce speculation, the friend strongly said, “Govinda would never leave Sunita. He will be finished without her. She anchors him, controls his moods. Without her, he will be lost. Even if matters have gone to court – and I am not saying they have – the couple will sort out their differences, as they always do.”
Why Sunita Ahuja And Govinda’s Divorce Rumours Started
The buzz grew after Hauterrfly reported that Sunita filed for divorce at the Bandra Family Court on December 5, 2024. The petition was said to be under Section 13 (1)(i), (ia), and (ib) of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955, citing adultery, cruelty, and desertion.
According to the report, the court issued summons to Govinda, but he only responded after a notice in May 2025. Since June 2025, the couple has been attending counselling sessions as directed by the court. Sunita is reported to have appeared in person, though it remains unclear if Govinda joined physically or virtually.
Govinda Recently Made Public Appearance Amid Rumours
Despite the rumours, Govinda stepped out in style. On Tuesday evening, he was spotted at the airport, smiling and blowing kisses to the paparazzi. The actor looked calm and cheerful, showing no signs of worry as the speculation about his marriage continued.
This is not the first time such reports have made headlines. Back in February, Sunita had denied similar rumours. She had said, “Humko, mujhe aur Govinda ko is duniya mein agar koi alag kar de, kisi ka maai ka laal toh saamne aa jaye. (If anyone in this world dares to separate me and Govinda, let them come forward).”
So far, neither Govinda nor Sunita has issued an official statement on the ongoing reports. While court documents point to legal proceedings, people close to the actor insist that the couple has always managed to resolve their issues.
