The team, comprising ASI Rajinder Singh, ASI Narinder Singh, Senior Constable Jaswant Singh, and Lady Senior Constable Harpal Kaur, acted swiftly and fearlessly, risking their own lives to pull the family out of the submerged vehicle. Their timely intervention turned what could have been a devastating tragedy into a miraculous rescue.

Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav took to social media to applaud the officers\’ heroism. “Their fearless and swift action turned a certain tragedy into a miraculous escape. Such acts of heroism reflect the true spirit of Punjab Police — to protect and serve with courage, compassion and unwavering dedication,” he wrote.
In recognition of their bravery, all four officers were awarded the Director General’s Commendation Discs and a cash reward of ₹25,000 each.
The Punjab Police has hailed this rescue as a shining example of service beyond duty and hopes the officers’ actions will serve as an inspiration across the force. The incident also highlights the critical role played by frontline personnel in emergency response and community safety.
