Promoting Rural Education and Community Learning
The initiative is part of the Mann government’s broader effort to improve access to educational infrastructure in rural and semi-urban areas. The newly inaugurated library is equipped with:
A wide range of books in Punjabi, Hindi, and English
Reading material for competitive exam preparation
Digital access to e-books and learning platforms
Comfortable and quiet reading spaces for students and community members
A Vision for Knowledge-Driven Punjab
Speaking on the occasion, CM Bhagwant Mann emphasized that libraries are not just buildings, but gateways to progress, especially in villages where educational resources are limited. He also encouraged youth and students to make regular use of the facility to enrich their knowledge and skill sets.
This is one among several public library projects being launched across Punjab, aimed at reviving a culture of reading and community-based learning, which the AAP government sees as essential to long-term development.
