CM Bhagwant Mann Inaugurates New Library in Dhuri, Hands It Over to Panchayats and Institutions

In a continued push to promote education and reading culture in rural Punjab, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today inaugurated a new public library in Dhuri, where he officially handed it over to Gram Panchayats and various local institutions for public use.

The Aam Aadmi Party\’s Punjab unit shared the development in a tweet, announcing,

“CM Mann will dedicate a new library to the public today in Dhuri. It will be handed over to gram panchayats and various local institutions.”

Promoting Rural Education and Community Learning

The initiative is part of the Mann government’s broader effort to improve access to educational infrastructure in rural and semi-urban areas. The newly inaugurated library is equipped with:

A wide range of books in Punjabi, Hindi, and English

Reading material for competitive exam preparation

Digital access to e-books and learning platforms

Comfortable and quiet reading spaces for students and community members

A Vision for Knowledge-Driven Punjab

Speaking on the occasion, CM Bhagwant Mann emphasized that libraries are not just buildings, but gateways to progress, especially in villages where educational resources are limited. He also encouraged youth and students to make regular use of the facility to enrich their knowledge and skill sets.

This is one among several public library projects being launched across Punjab, aimed at reviving a culture of reading and community-based learning, which the AAP government sees as essential to long-term development.

The Chief Minister reiterated his government’s commitment to empowering rural communities through education and infrastructure, adding that such libraries will serve as knowledge hubs for future generations.
