In videos shared by IANS, Janhvi is seen dressed in a vibrant orange saree, sitting on the temple floor as she prayed. Sidharth joined her in a simple off-white kurta and pyjama, participating in the prayer ceremony. After the rituals, both actors met members of the temple committee and were adorned with garlands as they received blessings.

They went to seek divine blessings before the film’s release. However, social media users did not hesitate to judge and comment on the temple outing. Some fans criticised it as a publicity move for the film.

Check out some online reactions below:

“Mandir masjid jaake, nukar pe chole bhature khaake, college mein naachke film hit nahi hoti.”

“Itni mehnat thodi malayali ulture ko smjhne mein kar lete.”

“This temple run only for publicity purpose is getting a bit too much.”

“At this point, we all (public) know that they are probably doing this for the movie, then why fake it?”

“They have visited more temples as co stars than married couples do.”

Janhvi Kapoor Addresses Controversy Over Her Casting

Earlier, Param Sundari’s trailer sparked debate over Janhvi Kapoor’s portrayal of a character with Malayali roots. Some viewers and Malayalam performers, including actor-singer Pavithra Menon and content creator Steffi, criticised the casting choice.

Janhvi clarified her role in a discussion with ET Digital and said, “Of course, I’m not a Malayali, and neither was my mother, but my character is actually half-Tamilian and half-Malayali. I’ve always been very interested in that terrain and that culture, and I’m also a huge fan of Malayalam cinema as well. So yeah, I think it was just a very fun, interesting story, and I’m so happy and grateful that I could be a part of it.”
