The Telugu film industry is mourning the loss of Allu Kanakaratnam Garu, grandmother of Allu Arjun and wife of veteran actor Padma Shri Allu Ramalingaiah. She passed away on Saturday morning at the age of 94, leaving the Allu family and fans across Telugu states in grief.

After hearing the news, Pushpa 2 star Allu Arjun rushed to Hyderabad to be with his family. Her mortal remains were kept at producer Allu Aravind’s residence before the final rites in Kokapet on Saturday afternoon.
Actor Ram Charan, who was shooting for a grand song in Mysore for Buchi Babu Sana’s film Peddi, also cancelled his schedule. The track (choreographed by Jani Master and composed by AR Rahman) featured more than 1,000 dancers. Despite the scale of the shoot, Charan immediately returned to Hyderabad to attend the funeral and support his family.
Many colleagues, fans, and industry friends offered condolences. They remembered Allu Kanakaratnam as the guiding force of the Allu family, with several stars pausing work to support them in this difficult time.
Rift Rumours Between The South Superstars
The reunion of Allu Arjun and Ram Charan at the funeral may spark new conversations about their long-rumoured rift. Reports suggest the cousins have not been on good terms for nearly 18 years. The alleged fallout is linked to actress Neha Sharma, who was once associated with Arjun and later made her debut alongside Charan in Chirutha.
