Bhagwant Mann Govt Prioritises Flood Relief, CM To Chair Amritsar High-level Meeting To Further Streamline Efforts

Bhagwant Mann: The Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has said that the government of Punjab is standing behind the people hit by floods and will never move away from its commitment. Relief work is being done in all the areas with officials distributing food, medicines, drinking water, and other daily necessities. Mann told local bodies that they must be on the ground and carry out the work of assistance in every village going to the poorest of the poor. He said the state’s primary obligation is to support citizens in this hardship period.

Bhagwant Mann Government Distributing Relief Material to Victims

The Chief Minister expressed that the government is not only putting in efforts to provide relief but also to streamline the help that comes in. There have been specific instructions given to ensure that the different supply chains function smoothly so that goods of requirement reach the needy areas on time without any hold-up. He also requested the officials to discharge the work in such a way that there is absolutely no duplication, and at the same time make sure that relief materials reach each area in the required quantities. 

CM To Chair Amritsar High-level Meeting

To enhance, comprehend, and assess the relief measures in progress, Mann stated that he will chair the big-shot meeting at his own discretion in Amritsar. Apart from disaster management, officers of medical, agricultural, and other departments will also be involved. Reviewing the current situation in relief efforts, examining problems faced by workers on the ground, and setting easy-to-follow paths for the coming days will be the focus of the conference. Mann stressed that the smooth flow of information between departments at the right time is indispensable for the adjustment of relief work.

Support For Affected Families

Bhagwant Mann promised that the government is firmly committed to the continuation of relief till every person affected by the floods regains his/her routine life. Food, shelter, and medical aid are provided through temporary camps, and people who have lost their homes have been relocated to them. In addition to the state agencies, volunteers and local bodies are on the ground working hard to support the activities. This is when the Chief Minister congratulated the officials on their excellent teamwork and thanked the people for their participation, saying that Punjab is going to come out of the flood crisis and shares a message of collective effort.
