Bhai Ghanaiya Ji, a revered Sikh figure from the 17th century, is remembered for serving water and aid to wounded soldiers on the battlefield without any discrimination of caste, creed, or side. His actions earned him the blessings of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, who acknowledged his service as the highest form of humanity. This legacy of selfless seva has inspired countless individuals across generations.
CM Mann said, “Bhai Ghanaiya Ji’s life is a living lesson in humanity, peace, and compassion. His values must be kept alive in every household of Punjab. Today, as we observe Manav Seva Sankalp Diwas, let us commit ourselves to service, equality, and the welfare of all.”

The Punjab government has been observing ‘Manav Seva Sankalp Diwas’ every year to spread awareness about Bhai Ghanaiya Ji’s teachings. On this day, schools, colleges, and community organisations organise seminars, voluntary blood donation camps, and health drives to keep his spirit of service alive.
Officials stated that the government is also considering initiatives to promote seva-based activities in villages and urban areas alike, ensuring that the timeless message of Bhai Ghanaiya Ji reaches the next generation.
CM Mann concluded that only by adopting Bhai Ghanaiya Ji’s ideals can society move towards true peace, harmony, and collective progress.
