Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor are gearing up for the release of Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, which releases in theatres tomorrow. In a fun chat with Pinkvilla, they shared some hilarious stories from their past projects and spoke about their new film.
Varun Dhawan Says Janhvi Kapoor Drugged Him
Janhvi recalled a funny moment from their shoot for Bawaal in Paris. She said Varun made her sleep on the floor. Laughing, she shared the story, and Varun explained what happened. He said, “We were heading to Paris for a shoot in Normandy. In the lounge, there was no space on the sofa, so we ended up sleeping on the floor. Later, the people on the sofa got up, so I moved from the floor to the sofa. Wo abhi bhi neend me thi to main uth ke so gaya sofa pe.”
He added that waking her up could have caused confusion, as she might have asked, “Why are you waking me up?”
Later, Varun Dhawan joked about getting back at her by sharing another story. He said, “She drugged me on a flight.” Janhvi Kapoor laughed and replied, “That’s not true.” Varun added that he wasn’t feeling well, and she made him take sleeping pills.
About Their Role And Funny BTS Moments On Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari Set
Talking about his role in Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, Varun said, “Honestly, I think the preparation was more about understanding the tone of the film. Shashank wanted it to be very light, very fun, very relatable. So, I just focused on getting the comedy right and also making sure that my chemistry with Janhvi and Sanya comes across naturally. No overacting, just natural interactions. And also, the timing of jokes is very important in this film.”
The actors also shared some fun moments from the set. Varun said, “There was this one scene where Janhvi had to deliver a very silly line. And every time she said it, we all started laughing. The director had to stop and start again like five times. It was impossible to control ourselves.”
When asked how audiences would react, Janhvi said, “I hope they laugh a lot and enjoy the romance and the chaos. It’s a film meant to be fun, and I hope everyone takes it lightly and enjoys it fully.”
Varun agreed and added, “Yes, it’s very relatable too. People will see themselves or their friends in some of the characters. I think that’s the charm of the film.”
