Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann Assures Maximum Support for Flood Victims’ Rehabilitation

A unique initiative titled “Jisda Khet – Usdi Rait” (Whose land, their sand) has been rolled out, allowing farmers to reclaim sand from their own fields without restrictions.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has reiterated his government’s firm commitment to ensuring complete rehabilitation for those affected by recent floods. Stressing that the welfare of the people remains the top priority, the Mann government has announced compensation packages higher than anywhere else in the country to provide meaningful relief to affected families.

Special Scheme for Farmers

A unique initiative titled “Jisda Khet – Usdi Rait” (Whose land, their sand) has been rolled out, allowing farmers to reclaim sand from their own fields without restrictions. This innovative scheme is expected to help farmers restore their cultivable land quickly, reducing both their financial losses and time needed to prepare for the next cropping season.

Relief Beyond Compensation

The government has directed all departments to work in coordination for providing housing, medical assistance, and livelihood support to affected people. Local authorities have been asked to ensure that no family is left out of the relief process, especially vulnerable groups such as daily wage earners and small farmers.

Long-Term Vision

CM Mann emphasized that the state government is not only focused on immediate rehabilitation but also on long-term flood management and infrastructure improvement. Plans include strengthening embankments, improving drainage systems, and introducing sustainable farming support to prevent similar devastation in the future.

Chardikala and Commitment

Reaffirming Punjab’s resilient spirit, Mann said that these efforts are part of the broader vision to take Punjab once again towards Chardikala (ever-rising prosperity and positivity). He added that his government will continue to stand firmly with every flood-hit family until normalcy is fully restored.
