During the operation, police recovered 2.5 kg of heroin and five sophisticated pistols along with magazines. Preliminary investigations have revealed that the accused were working on the instructions of a Pakistan-based smuggler, tasked with pushing arms and drugs into India through the border areas of Punjab. The seized weapons were reportedly meant to be supplied to gangsters and criminal networks operating in the state, with the intent to destabilize law and order.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann commended the Punjab Police for their relentless efforts in safeguarding the state. He reiterated that his government remains firm in its commitment to making Punjab drug-free and crime-free, emphasizing that those involved in such unlawful activities would be dealt with strictly.

The Punjab Police, under the leadership of DGP Gaurav Yadav, continues to strengthen its border security and intelligence mechanisms. The force has intensified surveillance across vulnerable districts to prevent the smuggling of narcotics and illegal arms from across the border.

This latest crackdown underscores the Mann government’s zero-tolerance policy toward cross-border crime and reflects Punjab’s determination to uphold peace, safety, and stability across the region.
