Bihar Assembly Election 2025: NDA Or India Alliance ? 5 Major Issues That Will Decide The Outcome, Check

Bihar 2025 polls hinge on anti-incumbency, SIR controversy, welfare cash transfers, caste politics, and Prashant Kishor’s wildcard rise.

In 2025, Bihar is getting ready for a very important political fight. This time, the stakes could not be higher. The NDA is trying to hold on to power, and the India Alliance (RJD, Congress, and Left) is trying to regain lost ground. Voters are once again torn between old promises and new dreams. There is a lot of anger, expectation, and tiredness in the state’s politics right now.

1. Non-Incumbency

After years of Nitish Kumar’s rule, people in Bihar are clearly tired of him. His government used to be praised for progress and empowering women, but now it is being blamed for staying the same and being too comfortable. A lot of people think the state hasn’t created enough jobs, and young people are still leaving in search of better chances. The wave against incumbents could be very important in this election, especially among young people and people voting for the first time who want to make a change.

2. Issue with SIR

As Bihar gets ready for the election season, the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list has become one of the most talked-about topics. Opposition parties say there were problems with the process and say the names of real voters, mostly women, Dalits, and people of colour, have been removed without a reason. The Election Commission says it’s just a normal process, but the issue has given the opposition a strong story about lack of openness and voter suppression.

3. Allegations from Vote Chori

Vote chori, or “vote theft,” charges are closely linked to the SIR story. The INDIA bloc and a few smaller regional groups say that the ruling alliance is being helped by changing the voting rolls. People are talking about this on social media and in their own communities, and trust in the system is falling. If this idea stays around, it might make people less likely to vote, which could work against the NDA.

4. Schemes for welfare

Since unemployment and inflation are going up, the NDA government is counting a lot on cash transfers and welfare programs to get people to vote for them again. Programs like the Mukhyamantri Mahila Kalyan Yojana and jobless benefits are meant to reach women and young people directly, as they are two important groups of voters. But some people say these plans are just short-term populist measures and not long-term fixes for Bihar’s structural issues.

5. The Jan Suraj Movement and Prashant Kishor

Politico-turned-leader Prashant Kishor has changed the way Bihar’s 2025 fight will go. Kishor is using his Jan Suraj Yatra to show that he is not part of either the NDA or the RJD-Congress union. Some young people and people who have never voted before have responded to his message, which focuses on education, jobs, and government over group politics. His party hasn’t been tested in the polls yet, but his participation could break up traditional vote banks.

When it comes to unemployment and caste math, the deciding undercurrents are

Bihar’s politics are still based on caste, with agreements carefully made based on social class. But for many people in the state, especially its young people, unemployment and large-scale migration are more important problems than caste. Thousands of educated people are still leaving the state to find work, and the party that best explains how it plans to fix this problem could win the crucial swing vote.

As Bihar gets ready for the 2025 Assembly Elections, voter distrust, aid dependence, caste math, and new political experiments are making the field very complicated. It will rest on how well each side understands the needs of a state that wants real change. This will determine whether the NDA stays in power, the INDIA bloc makes a comeback, or Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraj upsets both.
