Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1 is now one of the biggest Kannada hits of the year. The film is written and directed by Rishab himself and produced by Hombale Films, the banner that also backed KGF. It released during Dussehra with massive buzz and continues to do well even on weekdays. The film is now close to touching the Rs 300 crore mark at the Indian box office.
Kantara Chapter 1 Box Office Collection Day 6
Kantara Chapter 1 opened strong with Rs 61.85 crore on Day 1 across all languages. The Hindi version led with Rs 18.5 crore, followed by Kannada with Rs 19.6 crore and Telugu with Rs 13 crore. Tamil and Malayalam versions together added around Rs 10 crore, setting a great start for the weekend.
On Day 2, the film saw a 26.6% drop and collected Rs 45.4 crore. But it bounced back on Saturday with Rs 55 crore, showing 21% growth. The momentum continued on Sunday with Rs 63 crore, its highest single-day collection so far. Strong word-of-mouth and Rishab’s performance helped pull audiences back to cinemas.
As expected, the film dropped on Monday and earned Rs 31.5 crore, around 50% less than Sunday. Still, it performed better than many recent big releases. On Tuesday (Day 6), Kantara Chapter 1 picked up slightly with Rs 33.5 crore, a 6.35% rise from Monday.
By the end of Day 6, the film’s total in India stood at Rs 290.25 crore. The Hindi version continues to lead with Rs 93.25 crore, followed by Kannada with Rs 89.35 crore and Telugu with Rs 57.4 crore. These figures show that Kantara Chapter 1 has connected with audiences across the country.

However, when compared to KGF Chapter 2, Rishab Shetty’s film still has some distance to go. After six days, it has earned about 37% less than KGF 2. To beat Yash’s record-breaking film will be tough, but Kantara Chapter 1 is already creating its own space in Kannada cinema.
The film’s success is not limited to India. In just five days, it reportedly collected over Rs 370 crore worldwide, making it one of the highest-grossing Kannada films ever.
