The political atmosphere has heated up following the incident where a shoe was hurled at Chief Justice of India (CJI) B.R. Gavai. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has come forward in support of the CJI, condemning the act and highlighting the need to uphold respect for the judiciary.
Amid growing political reactions, AAP National Media In-Charge Anurag Dhanda shared a video of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on his social media handle, reinforcing the message of unity and integrity across the nation.
Anurag Dhanda shares Kejriwal’s video message
Sharing the video, Dhanda wrote, “Those who are trying to divide this country on the basis of religion and caste under the influence of the BJP should listen carefully.”
In the video, Arvind Kejriwal can be heard saying, “One nation, many languages; one nation, many cultures; one nation, many philosophies; one nation, many histories; one nation, many dance forms; one nation, many cuisines — but one nation, one people, one India, one Hindustan. All 140 crore people together make one India.”
Kejriwal reacts strongly to attack on CJI Gavai
Commenting on the CJI Gavai incident, Kejriwal took to social media platform X and praised the Chief Justice for showing restraint, saying, “Justice Gavai’s decision to let go of the matter and not take action against the man who tried to throw a shoe at him reflects his greatness.”
However, he also expressed deep concern over the implications of the incident, stating that it sends a disturbing message to the judiciary. “If someone who threw a shoe at the Chief Justice can go unpunished, what about the safety of other judges?” he questioned.
Kejriwal further condemned the online trolling and intimidation faced by Justice Gavai, calling it a “pre-planned and organized attempt to threaten the judiciary and bring it under control.”
