On Saturday, Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan shared a sweet birthday post for her father-in-law, Amitabh Bachchan. She posted a rare, old photo of Amitabh with her daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan on Instagram.
In the picture, little Aaradhya rests her head on Amitabh’s shoulder while he clicks a selfie. Amitabh looks charming in a traditional outfit, wearing a tiny tiara on his head. Alongside the photo, Aishwarya wrote, “Happy Birthday dearest Pa-Dadajiii (dad-grandfather). Love and God bless always.”

Even though the post was adorable, social media users soon started discussing Aishwarya’s bond with her in-laws. Many expressed sympathy, saying she isn’t always recognised or appreciated by the Bachchan family.

Rumours about Aishwarya and her in-laws had started when she and Aaradhya attended Anant Ambani’s wedding without the rest of the Bachchan family. Amitabh, Jaya Bachchan, Abhishek, Shweta Nanda, Agastya Nanda and Navya Nanda were all present, which sparked speculation about distance in the family.
The rumours settled later when Aishwarya and Abhishek were seen together at several events. In August 2025, the couple made a rare public appearance at Mumbai airport after returning from a vacation with Aaradhya.

Aishwarya recently impressed everyone at Paris Fashion Week with her runway looks. She was last seen in Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan: II (2023) and has yet to announce her next film.
Amitabh Bachchan was last seen in the Tamil action drama Vettaiyan, directed by TJ Gnanavel, starring alongside Rajinikanth, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati and Manju Warrier. The film marked Amitabh’s Tamil debut. He is currently hosting Kaun Banega Crorepati 17, which airs Monday to Friday at 9 pm on Sony Entertainment Television and streams on SonyLIV. Big B will also reprise his role of Ashwatthama in Kalki 2898 AD sequel.
