Keep her films aside, Kriti Sanon is currently winning hearts for her impactful presence on global platforms. The Tere Ishk Mein star recently gave a strong speech at the World Health Summit in Berlin. She spoke about the need to focus on women’s health and equality. Kriti (who is UNFPA India’s Honorary Ambassador for Gender Equality) made history as the first Indian celebrity to address the global event.

Kriti Sanon Talks About Importance Of Investing In Women’s Health

Her keynote speech was titled “Women’s Health – Global Wealth: Catalysing Returns on Bold Investments.” She spoke about how women’s health is directly linked to the world’s growth. Later, she shared her experience on Instagram.

In her speech, Kriti shared shocking facts that grabbed everyone’s attention. She revealed, “Women are 50% more likely than men to be misdiagnosed after a heart attack. Women are 40% more likely to be seriously injured in car crashes because for decades crash-dash dummies were designed on the basis of the average man.”

Her examples showed how gender bias still exists in health and safety systems. Kriti urged leaders, organisations and people to take women’s health seriously. She said that women’s health is often ignored and underfunded, even though they make up half of the world’s population.

Kriti also shared how investing in women’s health helps the economy. She said that for every $300 million invested, there is a $13 billion return. “Every dollar yields at least nine dollars in economic gains.” Kriti said improving women’s health is not just about fairness but also smart economics.

Kriti later posted clips from her speech on Instagram. In her caption, she wrote, “Women make up for half the humanity! It’s high time we invest in women’s health and include them equally while testing medicines, healthcare and safety technologies!”

She also thanked UNFPA Executive Director Ms Diene Keita, saying, “The warmth in your aura and hope in your voice is infectious ma’am!”
