Punjab Police Busts International Smuggling Network; 5 Arrested, Heroin and Weapons Seized

In a major breakthrough against narco-terrorism and organised crime, the State Special Operation Cell (SSOC), Amritsar, in coordination with a central agency, has arrested five members of an international smuggling network operating under foreign handlers. The operation led to the recovery of four Glock 9MM pistols with ammunition and 2 kilograms of heroin.

Dubai-Based Smuggler Linked with Pakistani Associates

According to the Punjab Police, preliminary investigations revealed that the accused were working at the behest of a Dubai-based smuggler, who maintained close contact with Pakistani handlers. The seized consignment of heroin and arms reportedly originated from Pakistan, highlighting the cross-border dimension of the illegal operation.

FIR Registered, Hunt for Remaining Members Continues

An FIR has been registered at Police Station SSOC, Amritsar, and efforts are underway to trace and arrest the remaining members of the network. The Punjab Police are also investigating the financial and logistical chain behind the smuggling racket to ensure the complete dismantling of the syndicate.

Punjab Police Reaffirms Commitment to Eradicate Narco-Terror

Reiterating their firm stance, @PunjabPoliceInd stated that they remain committed to dismantling narco-terror and organised crime networks that threaten the state’s security and youth. The department emphasized that coordinated operations with national agencies will continue to target both domestic operatives and international handlers involved in drug and arms trafficking.

This operation marks another significant success for the Punjab Police in its ongoing war against drug smuggling, arms trafficking, and cross-border crime, reinforcing the state’s determination to safeguard Punjab from the menace of narco-terrorism.
