Two drug peddlers dealing in heroin were apprehended by the Punjab Police in separate operations, marking a significant action against narcotics in the state.

First Arrest near Papita Market

In the first case, police from Thana Daresi arrested Honey Sidhu, a resident of Mohalla Peerubanda, and Salem Tabri near Papita Market with 4 grams of heroin.

Investigating officer Harpal Singh stated that the police received a tip-off that the accused were waiting near Chand Cinema and Papita Market to sell heroin. Acting on the information, the police conducted a raid, apprehended the accused, and recovered 4 grams of heroin. Both accused have previous cases registered against them for drug trafficking.

Second Arrest near Shamshan Ghat Pul

In a separate operation, police from Thana Division Number 3 arrested Rajiv Kumar alias Chintu, a resident of Mohalla Dharmapura, near Shamshan Ghat Pul with 4 grams of heroin.

Investigating officer Sulkhan Singh informed that actionable intelligence led to the raid and subsequent arrest.

Legal Action

Both accused have been booked under the NDPS Act and were presented in court, where remand has been obtained.
