Diwali 2025: PM Modi to CM Yogi, Check How Top Leaders Are Celebrating The Festival Of Lights

Diwali 2025 was observed by India's top leaders, starting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi who celebrated Diwali with soldiers, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath observed a grand Deepotsav, President Murmu’s humble celebration, Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to the border, and Rahul Gandhi with Diwali with artisans, where India's top leaders were focused on light, unity, and service.

This Diwali 2025 reflected the spirit of unity, tradition, and gratitude as national leaders celebrated the festival across the country in their unique ways—honoring soldiers at the borders, lighting millions of diyas in Ayodhya, supporting artisans, and spreading messages of peace and self-reliance. Together, their celebrations highlighted Diwali not just as a festival of lights but as a symbol of national pride, service, and social harmony.

PM Modi’s Swadeshi Diwali With Armed Forces

Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Diwali 2025 with the Indian Army in Kargil, continuing his annual visit to celebrate with India’s defenders.  Modi lit diyas with the soldiers, distributed sweets, and acknowledged the soldiers for their unwavering service.  Modi called upon all citizens to support local artisans and Swadeshi Governments, stating, “Let every diya symbolize self-reliance this Diwali.” 

CM Yogi Adityanath’s Grand Deepotsav in Ayodhya

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted a magnificent Deepotsav 2025 in Ayodhya, where the ghats of the Saryu River were lit up with diyas –  over 26 lakh diyas!  The event had Ram Leela performances, laser lights, and temple prayers at the newly constructed Ram Mandir. CM Yogi referred to Deepotsav as an “eternal symbol of faith, victory of truth, and humanity through light.”

President Droupadi Murmu’s Simple Diwali at Rashtrapati Bhavan

Droupadi Murmu, President of India, celebrated the festival with staff and security personnel at Rashtrapati Bhavan with lights, diyas, and sweets in the spirit of giving and sharing. She also sent a message to citizens about compassion, inclusion, and caring, and how the light of Diwali should, as she stated, “be spread to promote harmony in every home and every heart.”

Amit Shah’s Diwali With BSF Troops on the Border

Union Minister of Home Affairs, Amit Shah, celebrated Diwali with Border Security Force (BSF) soldiers in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. He lit lamps along the borders and expressed appreciation for their dedication and vigilance. He made the statement, “Whenever the nation’s soldiers are standing guard, the light of Diwali shines brighter.”

Rahul Gandhi’s Diwali with Artisans and Kids

Congress leader, Rahul Gandhi, spent Diwali 2025 celebrating in Jaipur with potters, weavers, and children from marginalized communities. He participated in diya-painting with them and connected with families supported by self-help groups. He remarked, “The light of Diwali is a smile of those who have created it.”
