On Thursday, Prabhas celebrated his 46th birthday, and fans got an early surprise. The makers of his highly anticipated film Spirit released the first announcement teaser. Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga shared it on social media, giving fans a glimpse of the film.
Deepika Padukone Reacts To Spirit Announcement Teaser
As reported by IANS, Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone reacted to the teaser with mixed feelings. She wrote, “I am sad but wonderful video Sandeep Reddy and happy birthday #Prabhas sir.”
Deepika was originally cast in the film, but later got replaced by Triptii Dimri. Reports say her exit may have been due to her demands, including limited working hours, a high paycheck and a share in the film’s profits, though nothing has been officially confirmed.
What’s In Sandeep Reddy Vanga And Prabhas’ Spirit Teaser?
The teaser is unique as it is an audio clip (sound story), released in five Indian languages – Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. The one-minute teaser features a jailer giving instructions to his assistant about handling an ex-cop in custody. While the assistant urges caution, the jailer orders a full search and medical tests for the prisoner.
What grabbed attention in the teaser is Prabhas being called “India’s biggest superstar.” This raises questions about the star status of actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Allu Arjun, and others. It’s not at all surprising that South cinema has overhyped the male lead.
Well, the “India’s biggest superstar” tag is certainly debatable. This also makes one wonder where other actors with more achievements than Prabhas truly stand in comparison.
The teaser also confirmed the film’s main cast. Alongside Prabhas, it stars Triptii Dimri, Kanchana, Prakash Raj, and Vivek Oberoi. Sharing the teaser, Sandeep Reddy Vanga wrote, “Happy Birthday Prabhas anna. Presenting a ‘SOUND-STORY’ in five Indian languages straight from the heart, for every fan who’s felt his (sic).”
Meanwhile, Prabhas is busy with multiple projects. Besides Spirit, he will star in The Raja Saab, the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD, Salaae 2 and Fauzi.
