According to media reports, around 90% of hotels in Varanasi are already booked, and boat rides on the Ganga are commanding premium rates due to high demand. Authorities estimate that nearly five lakh visitors will attend the festival this year, giving a major boost to Uttar Pradesh’s tourism and local economy.

Ahead of the celebration, the UP government shared important information through an official post. The message read:
“Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the able leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, ‘New Kashi of New Uttar Pradesh’ will shine with faith, devotion, and development on the auspicious occasion of Dev Deepawali. Har Har Mahadev!”

When Will Dev Deepawali Be Celebrated?
Dev Deepawali is observed 15 days after Diwali, marking the night when the gods themselves descend to earth to celebrate the festival of lights. This year, it will be celebrated on November 5, 2025, with grand rituals, Ganga aarti, and cultural programs planned along the ghats.
Tourism and Economy to Receive a Boost
The Tourism Department has set a target of lighting seven lakh diyas along the ghats, creating a mesmerizing spectacle. The influx of visitors is expected to significantly benefit the travel, hospitality, and boating sectors. With spiritual tourism on the rise, the festival will once again highlight Uttar Pradesh’s role as a key cultural and religious destination.
