Fans are calling it one of Madhavan’s most powerful transformations yet, with many comparing his look to National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.
Dhurandhar Poster Shows R Madhavan’s Surprising Transformation
The actor appears almost unrecognisable in the poster. Dressed in a sharp grey suit, wearing rimless glasses and with a calm yet intimidating expression, Madhavan exudes authority.

The first look quickly went viral, with fans flooding social media platforms like Reddit and X (formerly Twitter) to share their reactions. Many users drew parallels between Madhavan’s character and Ajit Doval, saying he looks like a “refined version” of Paresh Rawal’s portrayal in Uri – The Surgical Strike.

Ranveer Singh had introduced him on social media as “Angel of Death.” Rampal appeared in an intense avatar, sporting short hair, a long beard and black glasses, while smoking a cigar. His menacing expression hinted at a dark and powerful character.
What We Know About Dhurandhar So Far
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar includes Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna and R Madhavan. The film is reportedly inspired by true events and is said to revolve around India’s covert operations and intelligence missions in Pakistan.
While the plot details are still under wraps, reports suggest that Ranveer Singh will be seen playing an undercover spy. If the speculation is true, Dhurandhar promises to be a gripping tale of bravery, espionage and national pride.
The film’s trailer is set to drop on November 12, 2025, with a massive launch event planned at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) in Mumbai. Over 2,000 fans are expected to attend the grand unveiling.
Dhurandhar will hit theatres worldwide on December 5.
