New Palwal–Aligarh Expressway to Boost Connectivity Between Haryana and Uttar Pradesh

According to officials, this 32-kilometre-long expressway will connect the Yamuna Expressway at Tappal with the Eastern Peripheral Interchange at Palwal. The project is estimated to cost around ₹2,300 crore and is expected to drastically cut travel time between major destinations such as Aligarh, Noida, Gurugram, and Delhi. Once completed, the route will allow commuters to travel from Aligarh to Gurugram via Noida and Palwal with greater ease and less congestion.

The new expressway will also link important cities such as Agra, Mathura, Greater Noida, and Gurugram, providing an alternative and faster route across the National Capital Region (NCR). Travellers from Sarsool to the Yamuna Expressway will be able to cover the journey in about an hour, saving valuable time and fuel.

To make way for construction, land will be acquired from nearly 43 villages across the Aligarh district, including Andla, Arrana, Jarara, Choudhana, Taroura, Nayawas, Rasoolpur, Ainchana, Udaygarhi, Bamouti, Lakshmangarhi, Mau, and Bankner, among others. Villages such as Dharmpur, Nagla Assu, Damuaka, Khair, and Nagal Kalan will also contribute land for the project.

Officials said the expressway will not only benefit daily commuters but will also stimulate local economies

Officials said the expressway will not only benefit daily commuters but will also stimulate local economies. With improved connectivity, business and job opportunities are expected to expand across both states. Reduced congestion between Noida and Gurugram will further ease travel and logistics, making the expressway a key driver of regional development.

Residents and traders from both Haryana and Uttar Pradesh have welcomed the decision, calling it a long-awaited step toward better regional integration. The project aligns with the government’s broader vision of developing robust infrastructure that supports economic growth and enhances the ease of living for citizens.
