Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann Lauds Batala Police as Two Close Aides of Gangster Amrit Dalaam Arrested in Major Crackdown

In a significant breakthrough against organised crime, Batala Police has arrested two key associates of foreign-based gangster Amrit Dalaam of the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang. The accused, Vijay Masih and Malkit Singh, were apprehended along with two foreign-made .30 calibre pistols and live cartridges.

During the operation, accused Malkit Singh attempted to escape from police custody and opened fire using a concealed weapon. Police swiftly retaliated, overpowering him after a brief exchange of fire.

According to the preliminary investigation, both suspects were assigned by gangster Amrit Dalaam to execute targeted killings in Punjab. Their criminal history includes multiple cases under Attempt to Murder, the NDPS Act, and the Arms Act.
