Bollywood actress and former Miss India Celina Jaitly has taken a legal step against her husband, Austrian hotelier Peter Haag. She filed a domestic violence case in a Mumbai court, accusing him of emotional, physical, sexual and verbal abuse. Following her petition, the court has issued a notice to Haag.
Celina, who made her Bollywood debut with Janasheen in 2003, says the abuse forced her to leave Austria and return to India. She has sought legal protection, maintenance and custody of their children, who currently live with Haag in Austria.
In her petition, Celina described Peter Haag as controlling, with alleged narcissistic and alcoholic tendencies. She claims he forbade her from working after marriage. She has asked for Rs 50 crore for loss of earnings and Rs 10 lakh as monthly maintenance. The petition also mentions that Haag filed for divorce in Austria earlier this year.

Peter Haag is an Austrian entrepreneur and hotelier. He has held senior roles in marketing and management for top hotel chains in Dubai and Singapore, including the Emaar Hospitality Group. Before marrying Celina in 2010, he was already a notable figure in the hospitality world.

Celina and Peter met in Dubai at a fashion brand event she was endorsing. Introduced by a family friend, they reportedly felt an instant connection. Celina recalled that from the moment she saw him in a tailored black suit, she felt he was “her husband,” even though they had never met before. Peter reportedly felt the same way.
Peter later travelled to India to meet Celina’s parents and proposed during a quiet ceremony at their Mumbai home. They married in 2011 and became parents to two sets of twins. Sadly, one of their second set of twins passed away due to a heart defect.

Even last year, Celina shared emotional posts about her marriage on social media. She wrote about the highs and lows they had faced together, including personal losses, and emphasised the importance of prioritising family over minor disagreements. She concluded her post with a heartfelt message to Peter, calling him her “husband from another country” and highlighting their bond and family journey.
