Jaya Bachchan Vs Media Faceoff Explodes! Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit and Others React to Statement on Paps, Twitter On Fire

Jaya Bachchan vs media trials get a new chapter added. The veteran actress’s snobbish comments against paparazzi get widely criticised by prominent media figures like Ashoke Pandit and others. What are they writing in defence? check!

Jaya Bachchan’s fierce media interview against the media leaves the media stunned. Again, the vintage actress has opened her sword, directly attacking the paparazzi with her sharp words. Her remark on “who are these people? Are they trained?” gets widely criticised by filmmaker Ashoke Pandit and others. From editor Smita Prakash to journalist Navneet Mundhra, the media has now united against Jaya Bachchan for her chauvinistic attitude against media persons.

Jaya Bachchan’s Triggering Remarks Make Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit Explode

The recent media interaction of Jaya Bachchan is going viral on the internet, where she wildly mocks paparazzi. In her violent criticisms of the paps, she did not even spare their choice of clothes and stereotyped them with ripped jeans. Filmmaker and social activist Ashoke Pandit, thus, could not help but address Jaya ji’s vengeance against media personnel.

He has openly criticised Jaya Ji for shaming an entire profession by saying, “Jaya Bachchan ji’s statement against the paparazzi reeks of snobbish elitism.” He further termed it as a downright classist remark and totally unacceptable from a senior member of the film industry. To justify the works of the paps, Ashoke Pandit then points out that often the actors ask them to come and cover them.

The hardworking professionals are dedicated to their jobs irrespective of their dress codes. In his sharp criticism, he even suggests to Jaya ji that “it’s time to look inwards rather than indulge in this misplaced outrage,” indicating that stars must avoid calling paps if they are so irritated by them.

Several Critics Tweet on Jaya Bachchan Vs Media Controversy

Not just Ashoke Pandit, but almost all prominent media personalities are clearly displeased by the taunting remarks of Jaya Bachchan vs the media. The well-known journalist and editor Smita Prakash shares the controversial video of Jaya Bachchan.

Quoting Jaya ji’s remark that she belongs to the media as her father was a journalist, Smita ji wrote, “Apologies but you do not “come from media”, just because your father was a journalist. Only he qualifies to be “from the media”.

She also takes Jaya ji’s comments as snobish and shameful noting “if the photographer is wearing “drainpipe pants”, he is still doing his job. Your snobbery is shameful.”

Another editor cum journalist, Navneet Mundhra, gets more poignant while quoting Jaya ji’s typical behaviours. He pens on his X handle, “She was such a fine actor, but as a person, is petulant and wears her entitlement as a pride.” he goes on further saying, “Why such contempt for reporters who do their jobs? Fire them if they cross the line, but don’t be in an irritable & crabby mood all the time.”

These instant reactions from the prominent media personnel in the Jaya Bachchan vs the media issues show that this time, they are not going to keep things light. Jaya ji has clearly crossed her limits in her vengeance, and the receivers are not in the mood to fight back.

Past Battles of Jaya Bachchan With Media Professionals

This is not the first time the actor cum MP Jaya Bachchan clashed with the media. In fact, her angst against the media only keeps increasing with time. Previously, she scolds the photographers at airports, red carpets, and even during parliament sessions. Her distaste for the paparazzi is not new.

But this time her remarks get quite a bit down the belt, making everyone come to defend. It is the job of the paparazzi to uncover hidden Bollywood news, and they are at their best in their work. Both parties benefit from each other, so such one-sided hatred is not needed.
