The Office of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has detailed the state’s major achievements in empowering youth through large-scale skill development and employment initiatives over the past eight years.
UP Skill Development Mission
According to the official update, more than 12 lakh individuals have received training under the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission, aimed at enhancing employability and bridging skill gaps across sectors. Out of these, over 6 lakh trained youth have secured direct employment, marking a significant step toward the government’s vision of creating an ‘Atmanirbhar Uttar Pradesh’ through a skilled workforce.
Over 12 Lakh Trained and 6 Lakh Youth Employed
The statement further highlighted that various commissions and recruitment boards have provided government jobs to more than 8.5 lakh young candidates through transparent and merit-based procedures, reinforcing the state’s commitment to clean and accountable governance.
To strengthen digital empowerment, the government is advancing the Swami Vivekanand Youth Empowerment Scheme, which aims to provide tablets and smartphones to students and trainees pursuing undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, skill development, and paramedical courses.
The initiative has set an ambitious target of benefiting 2 crore youth across the state.
So far, 22.80 lakh tablets and 37.25 lakh smartphones—making a total of 60.05 lakh devices—have already been distributed, enabling students to access digital learning tools, online education platforms, and employment resources.
Officials note that this combined focus on skill development, digital inclusion, and transparent recruitment is creating a stronger, future-ready youth population capable of driving Uttar Pradesh’s growth trajectory.
