Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government MLA, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, has once again proven that serving the public is not limited to making promises but is about delivering results on the ground. Recently, MLA Dhaliwal announced the construction of a 40-kilometer-long road in the flood-affected areas of his constituency, costing ₹68 crores. This road will directly benefit the Army (Fauj), BSF, and the residents of 70 villages, bringing about a revolutionary change in the region’s connectivity.
MLA Dhaliwal stated that this road project is not only a significant step in infrastructure development but also fulfills a decades-old demand of the people. He mentioned that the road will ease commuting for residents of the surrounding 70 villages, ensure timely medical facilities, and boost economic activities. Most importantly, this road will play a crucial role in relief and rescue operations during floods. The MLA clarified that every possible effort will be made to complete this project, and there will be no compromise on quality.
In his address, Dhaliwal said, “For 70 years, people have been demanding this road, but previous governments never paid attention to it. Today, the Aam Aadmi Party government has not only heard this demand but has also begun the work to make it a reality.” He further added that the AAP government in Punjab is committed to the welfare of the common people and is making every effort to ensure that the benefits of development reach every individual. The MLA also noted that he personally monitors every development work and engages with the public to listen to their problems.
What sets MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal apart from other public representatives is his approach of personally working on the ground. He is not a leader who merely signs files in an office; instead, he goes out into the field to inspect every project himself. During flood relief efforts, he was seen visiting affected areas, meeting people, and promptly resolving their issues. This approach has contributed to his credibility and popularity among the public.
Local residents welcomed the announcement, saying it is the first time a government has addressed their decades-old demand. Balwinder Singh, a 65-year-old villager, said, “We have seen many governments come and go, but no one listened to us. The AAP government has not only listened but has also started the work. The MLA Saheb himself comes here to meet us and understand our problems.” Another village woman said that during floods, reaching their village was extremely difficult, but this road would now change their lives.
Since coming to power, the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab has prioritized development and public welfare. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the government has taken several crucial steps in basic sectors like education, health, roads, electricity, and water. Special emphasis is being placed on the development of rural areas, which have suffered decades of neglect. The government believes that real development is only possible when villages and small towns develop, and efforts are being made in this direction.
MLA Dhaliwal also informed that along with road construction, several flood control schemes are being implemented. He said that the government has allocated a special budget for the maintenance of rivers and canals to minimize damage during floods. Additionally, relief and rescue teams are being strengthened, and emergency services are being made more effective. The MLA stated that the government’s objective is to ensure that every citizen can live a safe and prosperous life.
This move by MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal makes it clear that the Aam Aadmi Party is not limited to urban areas but is also prioritizing development in rural and remote regions. This ₹68 crore road project will not only connect 70 villages but will also facilitate the movement of Army and BSF personnel, which is vital from a national security perspective. The public hopes that the project will be completed soon and bring positive changes to their lives. This effort by the AAP government proves that what was not possible for decades is now becoming a reality.
