What Is The Myth About Protein?
1.2-1.6 grams per Kg is evidence based sweet spot if you are above forty years of age and have muscle loss risk. 1.8 gram per kg is the maximum safe limit.
What Are Different Types Of Protein?
Whey Protein:
This is Ferrari of muscle building—fast digestion, leucine rich, and the king of muscle synthesis. Isolate is best for lactose intolerant. Lactose less than 1% concentrate may cause gas or bloating. Sucralose and cheap additives are big culprits. Hydrolyzed whey and clean isolate work better.
Casein Protein:
This protein is slow digesting night time protein. Sustained amino acid release slows muscle loss. It is not super hero but a marathon runner.
Animal Based Proteins
This protein is in egg, milk, whey and casein. Its DIAAS scores are high; and amino acid profile is complete. It is scientifically superior in muscle synthesis. .
Plant Protein
This protein is in pea, soya and rice. It is good alternative but individually incomplete. Pea is low in methionin, and rice is low in lycine. Soya is complete but controversial due to phytoestrogen noise. The data says that moderate use is safe. The best thing is to blend them or add leucine from muscle gain. But you need to follow harder protocol.
What Is The True Story About Indian Market?
As per FSSAI/NIN reports 60% supplements fail false label low protein and high sugar heavy metal. So, you should choose NSF informed choice USP certified brands.
Liver And Kidney Scares
High protein may cause mild raise in liver enzyme, especially in sedentary people. Creatinine may rise but it is from muscle turnover not damage.
Kidney Diseases
In uncontrolled diabetes, fatty liver grade three or medical illness, you need to take caution. So, take doctor’s opinion. So, protein does not fail kidney in healthy people.
