The brutal mob lynching of Dipu Chandra Das in Bangladesh has caused widespread anger in India. Dr. Imam Umer Ahmed Ilyasi, Chief Imam of the All India Imam Organisation, reacted strongly to the incident.
Brutal Killing That Shamed Humanity
Condemning the incident, Dr. Imam Umer Ahmed Ilyasi said the way Dipu Chandra Das was murdered shows extreme cruelty. He pointed out that the brutality did not end with the killing. Hanging the child from a tree after his death was completely inhuman and unacceptable.
Questions Over Silence of Human Rights Organisations
Dr. Ilyasi also expressed serious worries about the silence of human rights organisations. He asked why groups that usually speak against injustice and violence have not addressed this situation. He stated that selective outrage undermines the goal of human rights advocacy and leaves victims without help.
Intense Criticism of Bangladesh’s Role
Expressing disappointment, the Chief Imam said that Bangladesh has forgotten India’s long-standing support. He noted that India has always been there for Bangladesh in tough times, yet such incidents keep happening. His remarks showed increasing frustration over ongoing reports of violence and the absence of accountability.
Religious Teachings Do Not Justify Violence
The Chief Imam stated that Islam does not teach violence or murder. He questioned how such brutal acts could be connected to religious teachings. He asserted that those involved cannot be considered faithful followers of Islam. He emphasized that religion should never be used to justify hatred or brutality.
Appeal for Intervention by Indian Leadership
Calling the issue serious and urgent, Dr Imam Umer Ahmed Ilyasi appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to intervene.
