According to official data shared by Punjab Police, coordinated raids and intensive search operations were conducted at 347 locations across the state on the 308th day of the campaign. As a result, 119 drug smugglers were arrested, further tightening the noose around organised narcotics networks operating in Punjab.
With these latest arrests, the total number of drug traffickers apprehended during the 308-day drive has reached 43,095, highlighting the scale and consistency of the state’s anti-drug operations. Mann government has positioned the anti-drug campaign as a key pillar
The initiative, launched with the backing of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, focuses not only on arrests but also on breaking supply chains, identifying repeat offenders, and strengthening community-level vigilance. Awareness drives under the #NashaMuktPunjab mission are being conducted in schools, colleges and villages to discourage drug use and encourage rehabilitation.
Senior officials said that intelligence-based policing, inter-district coordination and public participation have played a key role in sustaining the campaign. The government has repeatedly reiterated that there will be zero tolerance for drug-related crimes, and action will continue against both street-level peddlers and major suppliers.
The Mann government has positioned the anti-drug campaign as a key pillar of its governance agenda, aiming to restore social stability and protect future generations from substance abuse.
