Tehseen Poonawalla: Maharashtra Used to Run on Raj Thackeray’s Fear, My Promise To End His Terror Now Fulfilled

Tehseen Poonawalla: Political analyst and social activist Tehseen Poonawalla who made an appearance in the Bigg Boss 13 house as a wildcard contestant has blasted Maharashtra Navnirman Sena Supremo Raj Thackeray after the recently concluded Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) election results.

Poonawala remarked that the goons of Raj Thackeray bulldozed one of his restaurants in 2008-2009 after Raj’s guests could be accommodated immediately. Tehseen remarked he was then told that Mumbai runs on the writ and fear of Raj Thackeray.

Tehseen Poonawalla-The Revenge Story

A vocal critic of regional strongman politics, Tehseen said he made a promise to himself that this fear legacy of Raj would end one day. The incident symbolized the regional and divisive politics of Raj Thackeray during its peak when the party workers used to wield influence through muscle power and street protests. They used to shut shops, demolish homes and offices, slap and beat people and celebrities in broad daylight and so on.

Post-incident, Tehseen Poonawala positioned himself as a thorn in the side of MNS, relentlessly called out its divisive rhetoric and hate-mongering. His efforts peaked in during the recently concluded BMC elections where Raj’s party MNS suffered a crushing blow, winning negligible seats amid voter rejection of its fear-based politics.

What Did Tehseen Said?

In his post on X, Tehseen saluted the people of Maharashtra for echoing Chhatrapati Shivaji and Sambhaji Maharaj’s warrior legacy, declaring his vow fulfilled.

Tehseen Poonawala eroded the base of MNS through legal challenges, sharp critiques and public mobilization, contributing to its biggest decline since the 2009 Maharashtra assembly high of 13 seats to electoral irrelevance.

Raj Thackeray’s MNS, which once used to thrive on bullying and regional divisiveness, has now been reduced to a single digit party. On the other hand, the journey of Tehseen Poonawala from a restaurant owner to a powerful political influencer embodies resilience.

Tehseen commented, “Never ever try to bully another person because if you do, Tehseen Poonawala will fight you!” The story of Tehseen truly inspires underdogs challenging entrenched powers. In Shivaji’s land, fear has no place, only the people’s verdict endures.
