Several private schools in Ahmedabad and the Shiv Nadar School in Noida received bomb threat emails on Friday, triggering heightened security measures and early dismissal of students. Authorities acted swiftly to ensure the safety of students and staff amid growing concerns ahead of Republic Day 2026.
DON'T MISS
The threats surfaced just three days before the national holiday, a period when security agencies are already on high alert across the country.
Swift Action Taken in Noida and Ahmedabad
In Noida, security teams were immediately dispatched to Shiv Nadar School after the threat email was reported. A bomb disposal squad and a dog squad conducted thorough checks across the campus as part of standard operating procedures. Officials confirmed that precautionary measures were taken, and students were safely sent home.
Similarly, multiple private schools in Ahmedabad received comparable threat emails. Local police teams evacuated premises and carried out detailed inspections to rule out any immediate danger.
Investigation Focuses on Source of Threat
Authorities have launched a coordinated investigation to trace the origin of the emails. Cybercrime units are reportedly examining digital trails to determine whether the threats were hoaxes or part of a larger attempt to disrupt public order ahead of Republic Day.
Officials have not confirmed the presence of any explosive material so far, but emphasised that no threat is taken lightly, especially during sensitive national events.
Heightened Vigil Ahead of Republic Day 2026
The timing of the bomb threats has raised concerns, coming just days before Republic Day celebrations. Security agencies across states are expected to tighten surveillance at educational institutions and public spaces in the coming days.
Parents have been advised to remain calm while schools continue to cooperate fully with law enforcement agencies.
