Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Thursday paid obeisance at Takht Sri Hazur Sahib, Nanded, one of the five sacred Takhts of Sikhism, during his visit to Maharashtra.

During the visit, the Chief Minister offered prayers and sought blessings at the revered shrine. He is scheduled to participate in events dedicated to the 350th martyrdom anniversary of the Ninth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, which is being commemorated with great reverence across the country.

Participation in Historic Shatabdi Events

Bhagwant Mann is set to attend various programmes organised to mark the 350-year Shaheedi Shatabdi, honouring the supreme sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, who laid down his life to uphold religious freedom, human rights and righteousness.

The Chief Minister said that the teachings and sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji continue to inspire humanity to stand against injustice and oppression.

Gratitude to Organisers and Sangat

Bhagwant Mann expressed gratitude to the event organisers and the local Sangat for the warm welcome and respect extended to him upon his arrival in Nanded. He thanked the management of Takht Sri Hazur Sahib for the invitation to attend the historic centenary events.

Spiritual and Cultural Significance

Takht Sri Hazur Sahib holds immense religious and historical importance in Sikhism, as it is associated with the life of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. The Chief Minister’s visit is seen as a gesture of reverence and commitment to preserving Sikh heritage and values.

Punjab government officials said the state continues to actively participate in major Sikh religious events, reflecting Punjab’s deep cultural and spiritual ties with Sikh history and traditions.
