Iran-US War: An aircraft carrier strike group of the United States led by the USS Abraham Lincoln is just a few miles away from Iran. Amid escalating tensions between Tehran and Washington DC, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has warned the United States, Israel and US’s Arab Allies of any misadventure.
Naim Qassem, a leader from Hezbollah, warned we are determined to defend ourselves against the US’s allied forces. According to media reports, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has moved into a special underground shelter while his son Masoud Khamenei has assumed official duties.
Last week, Trump acknowledged that the United States have a massive fleet heading in Iran’s direction just in case if we need it, hinting that powerful military action may still be an option for USA.
Rubio Talks With Iraqi PM
In another development, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio had a call with Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, the Prime Minister of Iraq. Rubio urged Baghdad to maintain a safe distance from Tehran and applauded it in expediting the transfer and detention of ISIS terrorists.
Warships Arrive In Middle East
USS Abraham Lincoln along with three accompanying warships has arrived in the Middle East to put pressure on Iran to “make a deal”. The USS Abraham Lincoln is carrying F-35C and state-of-the-art F/A-18 fighter jets along with EA-18G Growler aircraft that is specifically designed to jam enemy air defences. The three can be used to launch Tomahawk cruise missiles.
