Ajith Kumar On Racing, His Next Project
Ajith Kumar has always been open about his love for racing and his unexpected journey into films. In an earlier interview with India Today, he shared that acting was never part of his plan.
He said, “Acting was never on my radar. I am an accidental actor. After school, I started working in an auto manufacturing company for about six months. I was 18 when I started racing motorcycles… Then, before I started realising, I started doing print ads and TV commercials.”
Despite being one of Tamil cinema’s biggest stars, Ajith continues to balance films with his passion for motorsports. His dedication to racing has earned him admiration beyond the film industry.
On the work front, Ajith was last seen in the 2025 film Good Bad Ugly. He is now preparing for his next project, tentatively titled AK64. The film marks his second collaboration with director Adhik Ravichandran.
Unlike Good Bad Ugly, AK64 is expected to be a family-friendly entertainer with action and emotional depth. The film is likely to go on floors this month (February 2026) after Ajith completes his current racing schedule. It will reportedly be produced by Anil Sunkara, with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
