Priyanka Chopra Explains Why She Had Bodyguards At Golden Globes
In an interview with Variety, she explained that she enjoys interacting with fans and that her security is mostly about privacy, not safety threats.
She said, “I am ok with being approached by anyone and taking photos, and they (guards) know that I love people coming to talk to me. They were there to make sure we’re not being recorded without consent.”
Priyanka added, “That’s my biggest thing with everyone having cellphones. It happens often, especially with my daughter. We’re in the park or having ice cream, and suddenly I’ll see it online. My security is for that reason. Otherwise, I don’t need it. Nobody’s gonna kill me.”
Priyanka often shares glimpses of her life with her daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, on social media. However, she usually covers her daughter’s face with an emoji to protect her privacy.
Priyanka married Nick Jonas in 2018 in Rajasthan, with ceremonies blending Christian and Hindu traditions. They welcomed their daughter in January 2022, marking a new chapter in their family life.
