Bhagwant Mann has continued its statewide anti-drug campaign under the ongoing #YudhNashianVirudh initiative, arresting 164 drug smugglers during coordinated raids conducted across multiple districts. The operation was carried out by teams including the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) as part of the state’s intensified enforcement drive against narcotics networks.

According to official data released by Punjab Police, authorities recovered 11.9 kg heroin, 344 intoxicant tablets/capsules, and ₹4,700 in suspected drug money from those apprehended. The seizures highlight continued enforcement pressure on drug supply chains operating within the state.

Officials stated that alongside arrests, the campaign also focuses on rehabilitation and prevention. On the same day, 14 individuals were persuaded to undergo de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment, reflecting the government’s dual approach of strict enforcement against traffickers and support-based intervention for users.

With these latest arrests, the total number of drug smugglers arrested in 347 days has reached 49,129, indicating the scale and continuity of the anti-drug drive being conducted across Punjab under the state administration led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

Police authorities reiterated that the crackdown will continue with intensified surveillance, intelligence-based raids, and community cooperation to dismantle narcotics networks and curb drug abuse. The campaign is part of a broader strategy to strengthen law enforcement, reduce addiction rates, and ensure safer communities across Punjab.
