Singer Udit Narayan made headlines last year for a viral video of him kissing female fans at concerts. Now, he is facing serious allegations from his first wife, Ranjana Jha. She has filed a complaint claiming that her uterus was removed without her consent during a medical procedure decades ago.
The complaint was filed at the Women’s Police Station in Supaul (Bihar) on Tuesday. Accompanied by her lawyer Karunakant Jha, Ranjana said she discovered the surgery years later during medical treatment. She has also accused Udit Narayan’s brothers (Sanjay Kumar Jha and Lalit Narayan Jha) and his second wife (Deepa Narayan) of being involved.
Here’s What Ranjana Said About Udit Narayan
Ranjana told police that she married Udit on December 7, 1984 according to Hindu rituals. Udit moved to Mumbai in 1985 to pursue his singing career. She later learned about his second marriage through media reports. Whenever she confronted him, he misled her.
In her complaint, Ranjana said she was taken to a hospital in Delhi in 1996 under the pretext of medical treatment. There, she alleges, her uterus was removed without her knowledge. According to her, Udit, his brothers and Deepa Narayan were present during the hospital visit.
Netizens Question The Allegations
The complaint quickly went viral online, with social media users debating whether the claims are possible. Many questioned how a major surgery could go unnoticed for years.

“Udit Narayan might be a terrible man, but I have some questions. It’s a major surgery. You have to take medication to stop the pain for 2 weeks or so. There is a surgical scar. It’s not something you find years after the incident.”
“She won’t even have periods when her uterus is not there. Tab inko baad mein kaise pata ke uterus nahi hai.”
“Doctors don’t do this procedure without any medical emergency. It’s not a choice kind of operation ki jiska dil kia hata dia.”
“I know he is a shit person, but this is beyond disgusting and inhumane.”
Ranjana Says Udit Narayan Makes False Promises
Speaking to the media, Ranjana said, “You all know that Udit Narayan ji repeatedly makes promises but does not fulfil them. He has not done anything till now, which is why I have come to the Women’s Police Station. I deserve justice.”
She added that even the Women’s Commission initially refused to accept her complaint, and she had to submit a written application before it was registered. She said, “Even today, he continues to deceive me. Whenever he comes to the village, he makes the same promises again.” Ranjana also mentioned that she has been unwell and needs support, which she claims Udit has not provided.
The officer-in-charge, Anju Tiwari, confirmed the case is under investigation. “The dates mentioned are around 30 years old. An FIR will be filed once the facts are clear, and action will be taken accordingly,” she said.
So far, Udit Narayan has not commented on the complaint.
