Tu Yaa Main Box Office Collection Day 1: Shanaya Kapoor and Adarsh Gourav starrer Tu Yaa Main released this Friday amid fan excitement. Its soundtrack and promotional campaign had created early buzz, raising hopes for a strong opening. However, Tu Yaa Main box office collection Day 1 tells a different story.
Directed by Bejoy Nambiar, the survival thriller blends romance and suspense. With a limited release of around 1200 shows nationwide, the film struggled to attract audiences, especially against O Romeo, which screened nearly 5000 shows across India.
Tu Yaa Main Box Office Collection Day 1
According to trade tracker Sacnilk, the film opened on a disastrous note and earned just Rs 55 lakhs (Rs 0.55 cr), failing to cross the Rs 1 crore mark. It recorded a low overall Hindi occupancy of 7.16% on opening day. Morning shows started at just 3.92%, afternoon occupancy rose slightly to 5.84%, and evening shows reached 6.46%. Night screenings saw some improvement at 12.42%, but overall growth remained minimal.
DON'T MISS
Regionally, Delhi-NCR had the highest number of shows at 339, but occupancy was only 5.25%. Mumbai fared a little better, with 265 shows and a 10.25% occupancy. The figures suggest limited audience interest despite positive reviews from critics. A strong word of mouth will be crucial for improving collections over the weekend.
Although the opening is disappointing, Tu Yaa Main slightly outperforms the recent releases of its lead actors. Adarsh Gourav’s Superboys of Malegaon earned Rs 50 lakhs on Day 1, while Shanaya Kapoor’s debut Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan managed just Rs 30 lakhs. For director Bejoy Nambiar, it is also an improvement over his previous film Dange, which collected only Rs 12 lakhs on its opening day.
Industry insiders say the weekend will be key. If positive reviews translate into audience turnout, Tu Yaa Main may cross the Rs 1 crore mark on subsequent days.
