Bhagwant Mann Slams Traditional Parties at Anti-Drug Rally in Moga
Addressing a massive gathering, Bhagwant Mann reminded attendees of past governments, alleging that drugs were once openly sold through official vehicles. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to eradicating narcotics from Punjab and emphasized that strict action, proper treatment, and rehabilitation for victims remain top priorities.
The Chief Minister also urged citizens to continue supporting the state’s anti-drug campaign, stressing that public cooperation is essential to build a drug-free and prosperous Punjab. He said the government is determined to restore the region’s vibrancy and ensure a safer future for the coming generations.
Chief Minister further stated that his government has intensified coordination
The Chief Minister further stated that his government has intensified coordination between enforcement agencies and health departments to ensure a dual-track strategy — strict legal action against traffickers and compassionate rehabilitation for addicts. He emphasized that drug abuse is not merely a law-and-order issue but also a social and public health challenge that requires community participation and awareness at the grassroots level.
He added that the administration has been strengthening surveillance, intelligence sharing, and border monitoring to curb smuggling networks. According to Mann, several recent crackdowns have already led to arrests of key operatives, dismantling of supply chains, and seizure of large quantities of contraband substances.
Leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party present at the rally echoed the Chief Minister’s remarks and called on youth groups, local bodies, and civil society organizations to actively support the anti-drug movement. They stressed that sustained public involvement, along with government action, would be crucial in transforming the campaign into a long-term social reform initiative across India.
