O Romeo Box Office Collection Day 5: Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri’s latest release, O Romeo, is holding steady at the domestic box office. The romantic action thriller opened to mixed reviews. Still, strong curiosity and Valentine’s Day buzz gave the film a solid start. As expected, collections slowed after the weekend.

Trade estimates suggest the film earned around Rs 5 crore on Day 5 (Tuesday). With this, the total India net collection stands at Rs 39.9 crore. While weekday numbers dipped, the film continues to show a stable trend.

O Romeo Box Office Collection Day 5

Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, O Romeo released in cinemas on February 13. The timing worked well, arriving just before Valentine’s Day. The film collected Rs 8.5 crore on its opening day. On Saturday, earnings jumped by 48 percent to Rs 12.65 crore.

However, Sunday saw a decline. The film added Rs 9 crore, marking a 28 percent drop. The downward trend continued on weekdays. Monday brought in Rs 4.75 crore, followed by Rs 5 crore on Tuesday.

Occupancy figures show an interesting pattern. Morning shows recorded 8.65 percent attendance. Afternoon shows improved to 14.31 percent. Evening shows stood at 15.23 percent. Night shows performed best at 26.50 percent. This indicates stronger footfalls during late screenings.

On the global front, the film is doing better. According to Sacnilk, O Romeo’s worldwide gross reached Rs 53.3 crore by Monday. Overseas markets, especially urban centres, are contributing positively.

Despite the weekday slowdown, O Romeo has crossed the lifetime collections of several Shahid Kapoor films. These include Badmaash Company (Rs 34.98 crore), Phata Poster Nikla Hero (Rs 36.37 crore), and Deva (Rs 33.90 crore).

Notably, the film has also surpassed Vishal Bhardwaj’s Rangoon (Rs 39.80 crore lifetime). The next target is Kaminey, which earned about Rs 41 crore net in India. At the current pace, O Romeo is expected to cross that mark soon.

Kapoor and Bhardwaj share a successful creative partnership. They previously worked together on Kaminey, Haider, and Rangoon. Among these, Haider remains critically acclaimed, while Kaminey enjoys cult status.

At present, O Romeo is not facing any major blockbuster competition. However, Tu Yaa Main, starring Adarsh Gourav and Shanaya Kapoor, has slightly affected its audience share. The romantic drama has collected around Rs 4 crore in five days.

Meanwhile, industry observers have compared O Romeo’s run with Aamir Khan’s recent production Happy Patel, directed by Vir Das. The comedy underperformed and closed its first week at Rs 5.55 crore.

About The Film

O Romeo is inspired by true events from S. Hussain Zaidi’s Mafia Queens of Mumbai. The story follows Afsha (Triptii Dimri), a widow seeking revenge for her husband’s murder. She joins forces with Ustara (Shahid Kapoor), an eccentric yet deadly hitman.

The ensemble cast includes Nana Patekar, Avinash Tiwary and Farida Jalal. Special appearances by Vikrant Massey, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Disha Patani add to the film’s appeal. With a runtime of nearly three hours and an ‘A’ certificate, the film focuses on stylised violence and noir storytelling. As the first week progresses, all eyes are on whether O Romeo can maintain momentum and push past the Rs 40 crore mark.
