Drone delivery company Skye Air begins AI-powered doorstep delivery in Gurugram

Kumar said Skye Air aims to make India a global leader in autonomous delivery technology by refining and expanding its network.

Gurugram-based drone delivery startup Skye Air Mobility has launched India’s first AI-powered drone and robot-assisted doorstep delivery service in select parts of Gurugram, marking a major milestone in hyperlocal logistics and automated delivery. The announcement was made following the recently concluded AI Impact Summit 2026 held in New Delhi.

Gurugram Drone Delivery: Pioneering fully autonomous delivery system

According to company founder and CEO Ankit Kumar, the new service combines aerial drones with artificial intelligence-enabled robots to deliver packages directly to customers’ homes. Skye Air has integrated its hyperlocal delivery port — called “Skye Port” — with smart AI infrastructure, enabling drones to transport parcels to secure smart mailboxes and robotic rovers to complete the final leg to the doorstep.

How the system works

The process begins with drones carrying packages — weighing up to around 10 kg — from warehouses to “Arrive Points,” which are smart mailbox units installed in residential and commercial complexes. After the drone lands and deposits the package into the Arrive Point, autonomous ground robots developed with partner Autonomy take over and deliver items to customers once they enter a one-time password (OTP).

Skye Air officials said that their drones have already completed over 3.6 million deliveries across India over the past 2.5 years, reducing more than 1,000 tons of carbon emissions by replacing traditional road-based logistics. The company plans to scale the service first across all of Gurugram and later to other major cities before expanding nationwide and internationally.

The launch also underscores Skye Air’s growing global collaborations. At the AI Impact Summit, the company signed agreements with US-based AI firms including Arrive AI to deploy smart delivery infrastructure and enhance last-mile automation. Kumar said Skye Air aims to make India a global leader in autonomous delivery technology by refining and expanding its network.

Industry analysts say the initiative could transform how everyday goods, groceries, pharmaceuticals and retail products are delivered, offering faster, cleaner and more efficient delivery options while reducing traffic congestion and pollution in densely populated urban areas. The technology also reflects broader trends in integrating AI, robotics and aerial systems into mainstream commerce and urban services.
