Northern Railway Announces Additional Holi Special Trains for 2026 Rush

The railway urged travelers to check schedules via helpline 139, official enquiry portals, or the NTES app before travel, as timings and stoppages may change

The Northern Railway has announced a major increase in Holi 2026 special train services to manage the festive travel surge across multiple routes in India. The additional trains will run alongside previously declared special services to accommodate heavy passenger demand.

Holi 2026: Key Short-Distance Special Service

  • 04414/04413 Hazrat Nizamuddin – Mathura – Hazrat Nizamuddin (Unreserved Special)
    Operates daily from 27 Feb to 3 March 2026 between Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station and Mathura Junction.
    Stops include Okhla, Faridabad, Ballabhgarh, Palwal, Kosi Kalan, Chhata, Vrindavan Road, and Bhuteshwar.
    Class: General only.

Major Long-Distance Holi Specials (Highlights)

1. Mumbai Central – Katihar Weekly Special (09189/09190)

  • Runs Saturdays from Mumbai (28 Feb–28 Mar 2026)
  • Return from Katihar Tuesdays (24 Feb–31 Mar 2026)
  • Stops at Vadodara, Ratlam, Kanpur, Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Barauni, etc.

2. Saharsa – Anand Vihar Special (05575/05576)

  • Limited-run Holi special with sleeper, AC and general classes.
  • Key stops: Sitamarhi, Raxaul, Gorakhpur, Bareilly, Ghaziabad.

3. Mumbai Central – Banaras AC Special (09183/09184)

  • Mumbai departures Wednesdays (4–25 March 2026)
  • Return Fridays (6–27 March 2026)
  • Premium fully air-conditioned service.

4. Vadodara – Gorakhpur Weekly Special (09111/09112)

  • Runs Mondays from Vadodara and Wednesdays from Gorakhpur (late Feb–March 2026).

5. Patna – New Delhi Daily Special (03293/03294)

  • Operates daily in early March period
  • Stops: Danapur, Ara, Buxar, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay Jn, Subedarganj.

6. Mumbai Central – Kathgodam Superfast (09075/09076)

  • Weekly service linking western India with Uttarakhand hill gateway.

7. Indore – Hazrat Nizamuddin Bi-Weekly (09309/09310)

  • Fridays & Sundays from Indore; return trips from Delhi.

8. Sabarmati – Haridwar Weekly Special (09425/09426)

  • Connects Gujarat with Uttarakhand pilgrimage corridor.

Operational Note

Railway officials stated that some trains originally terminating at New Delhi will temporarily operate from Anand Vihar Terminal after 2 March due to operational adjustments.
