The anti-drug campaign launched by the government led by Bhagwant Mann in Punjab continued with intensified enforcement as Punjab Police arrested 88 drug smugglers during raids conducted across the state.

According to police officials, the action was taken on Day 372 of the ongoing anti-drug campaign ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’, which aims to eliminate drug trafficking networks and curb substance abuse in Punjab.

During the operations, police teams recovered 1.2 kilograms of heroin, 155 intoxicant tablets and capsules, and ₹50,150 believed to be drug money from the accused.
Authorities said raids were carried out at several locations across the state as part of the coordinated crackdown. The campaign is being conducted regularly to disrupt the supply chain of narcotics and prevent drugs from reaching communities.
Apart from enforcement action, the initiative also focuses on rehabilitation and awareness. Officials said 17 individuals were persuaded to undergo de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment, helping them move towards recovery and reintegration into society.
According to official data, a total of 52,687 drug smugglers have been arrested over the past 372 days as part of the sustained campaign against drugs in Punjab.
The anti-drug drive remains a key initiative of the state government, combining strict policing with rehabilitation programmes to address the drug problem in Punjab.
