Amethi Viral Video: Turn Of Events

In the video, the father Ravindra Nath Tiwari could be heard saying that it is his daughter’s wedding on March 12 and cooks have reached the venue but don’t have LPG cylinders to cook. Tiwari claimed that he has been forced to cook sweets for the wedding on a chulha using wood.

The video is from Dedh Pasar village that is located within the Amethi block and the Kotwali area. It was claimed in the video that the bride’ father waited in line endlessly for several hours outside a gas agency but could not secure a gas cylinder for his daughter’s wedding. He returned empty-handed and was told after contacting officials that gas cylinders could be acquired from Bhadar instead of Amethi. However, the bride’s father was still unable to secure the gas cylinder, adding to the family’s anxiety levels.

It was claimed by the bride’s father that the confectioner who had come for cooking at the wedding had asked for about 8-9 cylinders but he could manage only 2 gas cylinders. When all pleas fell on deaf ears, the father asked for the help of his relatives and managed to get some fully-filled and half-filled cylinders.

Social Media Reactions

A social media user commented, “Rishtedaron ko bolo ghar se khana khakar aaye.” Another commented, “India is not the only country to be affected by the global crisis. LPG crisis is almost everywhere, good to know that cylinders were finally arranged and the wedding would go on as planned.” A social media user commented, “Sorry to learn about this emotional issue! Hope the family gets help immediately. His neighbours should help.”
