DME Youth Parliament 2026: MP Ms. Shambhavi Choudhary Inspires Students

Delhi Metropolitan Education hosts Youth Parliament Competition 2026 on the Right to Disconnect Bill, 2025, with Lok Sabha MP Shambhavi Choudhary inspiring students as they demonstrate legislative debate, leadership, and democratic values.

Delhi Metropolitan Education’s (DME) Youth Parliament Committee and NSS Cell hosted its annual Youth Parliament Competition 2026 on “The Right to Disconnect Bill, 2025,” graced by Chief Guest Ms. Shambhavi Choudhary, the dynamic Lok Sabha MP from Samastipur, who is one of India’s youngest parliamentarians.

Students brilliantly replicated parliamentary procedures, from the Speaker’s moment of silence for Ajit Pawar to spirited Question Hour debates. Supriya Sule’s Right to Disconnect Bill sparked passionate work-life balance debate before securing majority approval.
DME Director Prof. (Dr.) Komal Vig and Law School Head Prof. (Dr.) Rajinder Kaur Randhawa welcomed Ms. Choudhary with a memento.
In her keynote address, Ms. Choudhary revealed her political journey began through participation in Youth Parliaments as a student. She emphasized the vital role of such platforms’ shaping future leaders and urged disciplined debate on national issues. On the Right to Disconnect Bill, she emphasised that staying connected to country and cultural roots is more important than connection through social media.

The Valedictory Ceremony featured session highlights and prize distribution to outstanding performers. The ceremony ended with a vote of thanks by DME Youth Parliament Coordinator, Dr. Farah Hayat.

The event achieved grand success in inculcating democratic values and legislative understanding among participants.
